Study Abroad Withdraw or Change: Policies and Procedures

Students who commit to participate in a UR semester study abroad program and then withdraw from the program, or change programs post-commitment, are subject to the Withdrawal Policy and Procedures. If there is a question about the withdrawal or change policy, students should speak with their IE study abroad advisor at the University of Richmond.

Students pre-approved by the International Education office to attend a non-UR semester program abroad who are considering withdrawing should contact the program providers for information regarding the institutions’ withdrawal policies, procedures and refunds. With the exception of extenuating circumstances, the $1,500 administrative fee charged by the University of Richmond to students participating in an approved non-UR semester abroad program is non-refundable.
