Supplier Diversity Leadership Council

A Supplier Diversity Leadership Council will guide the implementation of the Supplier Diversity Program. This council will:

  • Identify barriers to doing business with the University
  • Develop communication to ensure support among employees and to make employees aware of the University’s commitment to supplier diversity, including the employee performance appraisal process
  • Resolve problems and enhance implementation of the program
  • Identify and act upon ways to reach out to our WMBE suppliers
  • Monitor and inform senior management of the program’s status
  • Set the tone for community engagement in the process

The council will include representatives from key University departments involved in procurement who will keep the council informed of upcoming procurement projects. The council will also include representation from several advocacy organizations and members of the Richmond community who will provide guidance to the council on ways to engage and reach out to our WMBE suppliers.
