Staff Education and Training
The OSSP staff will educate the University community on supplier diversity goals and the value of procuring goods and services from WMBE suppliers. The staff will implement a Supplier Diversity Training Program that will ensure that all personnel are aware of the University’s commitment to diverse suppliers and serve as a resource for guiding procurement practices.
OSSP staff will keep abreast of supplier diversity trends, governing laws and best practices by working with advocacy organizations and through continuing education. With education, communication, and guidance from OSSP, University staff will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that all personnel that make buying decisions are aware of the University's commitment to diverse suppliers
- Promoting the sourcing and use of diverse businesses by informing campus purchasers of these businesses
- Serving as a departmental resource in the development of WMBE sub-contract spending goals for funded projects and construction
