Web Time Entry
Hourly Staff | Approvers/Supervisors | Students
Hourly Staff & Web Time Entry Each employee on Web Time Entry has a designated approver. The approver chooses a proxy who can approve Web Time in their absence. One valuable part of Web Time Entry is the ability to start entering your hours as soon as the pay period is open. That way, you can keep track of your vacation and sick days as they occur. The Payroll Office strongly suggests employees set a recurring reminder for every other Monday on their Outlook. This will ensure their hours are submitted to Approver by the 10:00 am Monday deadline. Click here for the staff Web Time Entry instructions.

Student Employees and Web Time Entry The University is in the process of transitioning all student employees to Web Time Entry (WTE) for reporting hours worked to payroll. This is being done on a department by department basis as the set-up is quite extensive. Your Supervisor will inform you if WTE is the method of reporting hours for that department.
Student employees who have been selected for WTE must submit their web timesheet before 10:00a.m. on the Monday following the end of a pay period. After that deadline the timesheet is no longer available to update online. Payment for those hours will be delayed by at least 2 weeks! The student will then need to submit the hours on a paper timesheet. Contact the payroll department for further instructions.
Reporting time via BannerWeb:
- Log on to BannerWeb
- Click on "Employee Information"
- Click on "Timesheet"
- Select the position for which you will be entering time
- Select the appropriate pay period from the drop down list
- Click on the "Timesheet Button" at the bottom.
- Enter the hours that you worked for that position by clicking on the appropriate day on the Regular hours row. A pop-up box will prompt you for your "IN" and "OUT" time(s) for the day. Continue this process for each day you worked. (Do not hit "Submit" until you have entered all of your time for the pay period. If you hit submit in error before you have finished entering all of your time for the period, just ask your supervisor to return the timesheet to you for correction.)
- Be sure to click on the "Save Hours or Units" button
- Once you have finished entering hours for the pay period, click on the "Submit" button. You will be prompted to enter your PIN again as a certification. You MUST do this in order for your approver to be able to access and approve your timesheet.
- Repeat these steps for each WTE position for which you need to report hours.
We believe you will be pleased with the entire BannerWeb product. As long as you have access to a computer with a web connection, you will be able to retrieve your personal information from anywhere and at anytime. Click here for student Web Time Entry instructions
